So we absolutely do not want to take responsibility for giving you an exhaustive list of all the incredible attractions you can find in the Italian capital.

But if you are planning a trip to Rome, there are some attractions that you absolutely cannot miss because if you miss them, you probably couldn’t even say that you have been to Rome.

Here is a list of the 10 most famous stops that you must visit if you want your trip to Rome to truly be a trip to Rome:

  1. The Colosseum – one of the most iconic monuments in Rome, the Colosseum is a Roman amphitheater built in 70-80 AD. It is one of the most important ancient sites in the world and hosted gladiator games, theatrical performances, and other activities.

  2. The Trevi Fountain – located in the heart of Rome, the Trevi Fountain is one of the most famous fountains in the world. Built in 1762, it is known for the legend that whoever throws a coin into the fountain will return to Rome.

  3. The Pantheon – one of the most famous monuments in Rome, the Pantheon is a temple built in 126 AD. It is one of the best-preserved examples of ancient Roman architecture and has an impressive dome that was an advanced engineering feat for its time.

  1. Campo de’ Fiori – Its name means “Field of Flowers” and derives from the fact that a flower market used to be held here. Today, the square hosts an outdoor market, where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, spices, and other food products. The square is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and craft shops, and is a popular place for both locals and tourists. The statue of Giordano Bruno, located in the center of the square, recalls the place of the Italian philosopher and scientist’s execution in 1600. In the evening, the square becomes a meeting place for young people, with numerous bars and nightclubs.
